Anemia

30” h x 14 ½”” w x 4” d

I often overhear strangers describing what they see in the murrini shapes when they look at my glass. The most common answers are sea amenities, blood cells, and tubes (although I have also heard Dale Chihuly bowls once and toes once). I often play with those ideas and they seem to seep into my next body of work. This time, the blood idea stuck with me.

This piece got a spot of red (I just love the combination of red and a gradient of greys) and it just came out looking like blood. Hence the blood-themed title.

I often add a focal point to my panels. I like to make sure that there is something to see from far away that is just as interesting as the rest of the panel when viewed up close.
